Field heating FC Groningen
On behalf of Magnum Projects in Tholen, Van Kaam KTL installed the field heating in the new FC Groningen stadium.
A pipeline network was installed approximately 25 cm under what would ultimately be the new grass mat. The pipelines were laid in the field at 250 mm intervals; the trenches were dug in cooperation with the Van Vliet company in Ter Aar.
It was decided that PE-RT pipes would be used for the field pipes: high-quality, diffusion-sealed and perfect for welding to the HDPE pipes. A total of 33 kilometers of these pipes was drawn into the field.
The main pipeline is made of HDPE. The supply and discharge lines are made of Ø160mm and Ø125mm pipes. The pipes are connected by means of mirror welds and electro-weld joints.
The supply and discharge lines are both located on the same side of the field. All of the pipes are connected on the other side with electro-weld joints.
The polyfusion method was used to connect the field pipelines to the main pipelines. The small field pipes are welded into the main pipelines.

DSM/Exter BV in Zaandam
Van Kaam KTL BV installed a HDPE cooling water system with a diameter of 160 mm. From the surface water to the pump chamber and from the pump chamber via the cooling column to the plant. The system runs via the cooling column because the surface water is too warm in the summer. |

Cooling water system at DSM
Van Kaam KTL BV installed a double ABS cooling water line Ø125 mm and a single ABS discharge line Ø200 mm for the evaporators and reverse water for the dosing pumps.
Also with ABS and PVC pipelines for rinsing the evaporators and pumps to prevent algae and calcium deposits.

A frame with the necessary PVC pipelines for reverse water and its decalcification was also built for the dosing pump.

Polypropylene pipes at DSM
Van Kaam made and assembled polypropylene pipelines at DSM for the supply to and deaeration of kettles to which hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide are added.
DSM places great store in safety, and this must be evident in activities of this type. Polypropylene is resistant to higher temperatures.

Funbaan Almere Stad
A Funbaan – a rink for fun – was built in the heart of the city Almere Stad, and Van Kaam KTL BV installed the HDPE pipelines for a skating rink.
The project involved a Funbaan for summer and winter:
for fun on the water in the summer and on ice in the winter.

Cono Midden-Beemster
Milk factory Cono in Midden-Beemster significantly expanded its plant facilities, as a result of which the volume of waste water increased considerably. Van Kaam KTL BV worked with Facta Uitgeest to make large pits with pipelines and base bends for the Flygt pump system. The HDPE pits are made from winding pipes because of the large ground pressures. |

VU Amsterdam
Van Kaam KTL BV worked with Germieco BV to construct a sewage waste system including sampling equipment.
The pit was made of HDPE winding pipe with an internal diameter of 180 mm with 2 KSB waste water pumps inside. A structure next to the pit houses the switch unit and the sampling equipment, including the necessary lighting, heating, warning signals and other facilities.

Ice rink Thialf gets a new ice floor
Even Dutch skates can still be improved. But whether or not records are broken is certainly also dependent on the ice floor. The Thialf Ice Stadium is ready as can be in that respect.
The concrete floor, foundation and piles were totally removed from the old ice floor in the stadium in Friesland before the skating season arrived. The hall floor space was then deepened to make room for a new foundation and main pipeline circuit with all the necessary pump chambers and distribution lines.
Van Kaam provided the necessary pipes. Pre-insulated and pre-fabricated Epoxy pipes Ø 350 mm for the main pipelines and HPE pipes and accessories for the distribution and transport pipelines.
Junior rink, practice rink, ice hockey rink and speed skating rink: they all have new floors.

Duinrell en Wassenaar
In this amusement park, Van Kaam was responsible for the design and production of the water supply and discharge for the trailer park. The pole, measuring 1.20 meters above the ground, is made from HDPE: a collision resistant material that can withstand any weather conditions. The supply line has a special timed tap that combats water waste, while the yellow shield at the top serves to mark the individual sites. The trailer park has a total of a few hundred of these poles. |

Erasmus University in Rotterdam
The entire sewage system of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam is being replaced in a phased project. Van Kaam will supply a total of approximately 60 inspection pits with diameters Ø 600, 800 and 1000 mm. The contractor must continually deal with a tangle of pipelines that are not specified in any plans. This project is a showcase for the advantages offered by the PE pits: submit the measurements today and Van Kaam will deliver the tailor-made products on site tomorrow! |

Waste Landfill Waalwijk
From landfill to green hill: in Waalwijk the landfill is covered with PE foil before receiving a layer of earth and sand. Trenched pipelines are integrated to remove the water from rainfall and percolation that meet in pits. Van Kaam supplied more than 100 inspection pits, some with a bulb base (Ø 600 mm) and some with a flat base (Ø 400 mm). Both the pits and the special connectors are made from polyethylene, making them ready for recycling anytime in the (distant) future. |
